A discussion on sustainability and the role of youth #STANDFORSOMETHING campaign
On 01.09.2021, our first autumn event took place in Budapest, where the invited young people learned about different topics in workshops, and experts got closer to the young people’s point of view and gathered new ideas from them. The evening was opened by István Kárász, President of the Pact for Youth Association, who presented the #Standforsomething campaign and the association’s work with young people and European trends in sustainable jobs.
The theme of the event was the importance of digitalisation, and they tried to gather as many ideas as possible to make this a reality. The programme used the world café method to bring all participants to the table of ideas and experts. Four themes were explored by the participants; sustainable agriculture and sustainable households, quality education, the role and presence of young leaders, and youth mobility and work experience.
The brainstorming, the discussion with experts and the I stand for campaign aim to bring the voice of young people to decision makers at national and international level. The Youth Pact Association and the #Standforsomething campaign working group will summarise and disseminate the ideas and proposals put forward.
