On 7 March, the fifth meeting of the Pact4Youth Hungary working group was held at the Ministry of Human Resources. The working group set its goals for 2018 and gathered the most useful experiences that the participating organisations considered important.
The European Pack for Youth initiative, initiated by CSR Europe and supported by the
European Commission, has been working since 2016 to improve opportunities for young
people in the European area. Business and civil society leaders have put together the
following joint policy proposals:
- Make technical and vocational education and training equally accessible to all young people
- Develop partnerships in business education across Europe
- Entrepreneurship through learning
AmCham Hungary is one of the actors participating in the Pact4Youth Hungarian initiative in
cooperation with the National Youth Council (lead organisation), the Ministry of Human
Resources, the Ministry of National Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the National Conference of Student Self-Governments,
the New Generation Centre, the UN Youth Ambassador, Bridgestone Hungary, the Meló
Student School Association, the European Youth Card Association, the National Kid
Association and the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs.
The programmes, projects and best practices of these organisations support students of the
young generation in several priority areas of the European Pact. These priority areas are:
- skills development (STEAM, basic skills, soft skills, entrepreneurship)
- promoting vocational education and training as an equal choice
- inspiring young people to explore new job opportunities
- helping young people make the transition to the labour market
- helping companies to better attract talented young people
- support schools, teachers and head teachers
- developing intermediary organisations and strengthening their role
The Task Force decided to gather useful experiences based on EU priorities and to explore
areas where further development and support is needed. The Pact4Youth Hungary working
group will make recommendations to address these problems and propose guidelines on how
to make young people more competitive, thus facilitating their employment.
